Black Mountain Golf Resort
Hua Hin, Thailand
Designer: Notlöv & Edfors
Year Opened: 2007
Black Mountain Golf Glub is a 27 hole golf resort, located in Hua Hin, Thailand. Over the years, Black Mountain has played host to numerous Asian Tour events, and many Asian Tour pro’s base themselves out of the resort, making use of its excellent facilities and outstanding golf courses.
Ranked as one of the Top 100 Golf Courses in the world, the North and East courses made up the original design, opened in 2007. The West course was then added in 2016 to offer a composite course, giving golfers more options when playing there. Cut into the jungle and surrounded by black mountains, with natural creeks and rocks framing many holes, the landscape and scenery is truly stunning, adding perfectly to what is a fantastic golf course.
Golfers playing Black Mountain will need to think their way around the golf course, with many holes set up to offer both risk and reward scenario’s. A lot of the time a shorter tee shot will find a larger part of the fairway, with more aggressive drives offering smaller landing spaces.
The course is always in excellent condition, and the Tifeagle Bermuda greens are always fast and true. Overall Black Mountain is an excellent golfing experience, and one recommended to anyone looking to play golf in Hua Hin.
The COVID-19 pandemic may have forced the golf industry to abruptly hit the pause button, but many are braced and ready for the better days that are, hopefully, not too far away. We spoke to Tom Hutton, CEO & Founder of Tee Time Saver ‒ the official booking partner for Asian Tour Destinations ‒ who is a young entrepreneur with no doubts about where his company is heading.
